What has happened to the Educational System across America? At one point in time, nearly all colleges in the country were Christian based. What exactly caused the separation between higher education and the Christian faith?
With the government being more active in the educational system in the 19th century, the separation of school and church began. It was during this time that a radical secular spirit arose, encouraging the separation even more. The early 20th century brought upon the Modernist Fundamentalist Controversies, which resulted in the complete separation of faith and education in all Universities across America. Professors were no longer allowed to spread the message of God through the teaching of art, humanities, sciences, or religious classes.
It is unbelievable to put these facts into perspective. What is happening to our country? Have we forgotten that our country was founded upon the word of God? We now have to attend a private college, a Bible college, a church related college, or a Christian liberal arts college to have an integration of church and education. Of the 3,600 institutions of higher learning, only 800 remain related to the church. That is not a very good ratio if you ask me.
